We will have a discussion on these terms. These terms will be part of the vocabulary that you will have to know for a test. There will be 20 total words that you will have to define as well as the information from the timeline you will work on today.

Furthermore, the first 13 words will be incorporated into a “virtual computer” that you will have to use the internet to search for each item, price them, and give me a final tally of what you “spent” on the hardware.

Introduction to students on the parameters of a search and internet.

We will go to the Library and Media Center, then to OSLIS, 'Learn How to do Research'. We will talk about 'defining' a term and then open 'Online Research Planner'. You will be filling this out based upon a targeted Research Paper that you will do that deals with technology. We will be starting with the basic parameters of research. We will be completing the worksheet by evaluating directories, search engines and metasearch engines.

You should have been thinking of what technology item/concept that you want to research. This will be included in the below "Online Research Planner".

We will be using EBSCO Username: ddouglas
Password: ddhs

We will finish the "Online Research Planner; please send me a copy of your finished work of the 'Online Research Planner' to me after you “save as”, rename with your last name and worksheet and e-mail it to me at jgreenhite@gmail.com

I want to take baby steps in research and then build to the actual research on the item you chose to research.

With that in mind, we will look at the Internet PowerPoint. The end of the PowerPoint asks you to search for specific items; please find, copy the site you got it from, and e-mail me the results!

Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite
